When my kids were little, we had a special "clean-up" song that we sang together as the toys were scooped and placed into various baskets. This was not a chore, this was a game with a purpose. And most anything done to music just makes it seem a lot more fun. Added to that sense of fun was the use of colorful bins place in a bin organizer. The organizers made by companies such as Whitmor seem to have a childs needs in mind. They are set at an angle that allows your child to see what is in the stackable storage bins without having to carry it down.
A lot of us believe that using plastic is the most favorable way to store valuables, unused items and food stuff however, not all of us are aware of what differentiating features and or characteristics make plastic bins the best storage container option. This article discusses the various features and plastic storage container characteristics that not only make it the best but also the preferred storage option in the market. Plastic storage bins are more portable: When compared to metal and wood container options plastic usually comes up first when it comes to portability. This is mainly because the weight and density of both metal and wood (though not the same) is much greater than that of plastic. Plastic being less dense and therefore much lighter than other storage container options makes it the better option for people looking for storage containers that are convenient and easy to transport.
Storing something properly today will mean being able to find it when looking for it tomorrow. Plastic Storage Bins are one way to store items to keep things tidy and clean. Usually bins are colorful, sturdy and economical. When walking into a kindergarten class, one of the first things you expect to see is a wall full of cubby holes. The bins inside these cubbies are full of crayons, paper, rounded safe scissors and the show and tell toy that was brought for that week. These cubbies and bins can be stacked low for little children to reach what they need or tall for the teacher to store their books and pencils. The bins will last a long time and are easy to clean, since they are made from plastic they are sturdy and with just a damp cloth will wipe away the fingerprints.
When youre arranging them, remember that these are kids storage bins and thus they have to be at an appropriate level for the children. Sometimes as adults we arrange a childs room to suit our tastes and forget that there are limits to how high our children can reach. If you place too many bins on top of each other youre risking an accident as they try to climb up to get what they want. Selecting a color that will last for years is a good idea. Many older children still find a use for their bins long after they have outgrown most of their toys. Primary colors, pastels, and neon colors might be good for today but will they be good for tomorrow. Using bright and cheery primary colors usually helps ensure that even as the room changes the bins will still appeal to your sense of style, and eventually their sense of style.
Plastic bins are great in the workshop as well. Since most workshops have a bit of, well, grime in them, you want to have surfaces that are easy to clean. Plastic is very easy to clean off after a project is complete. I like to build shelves and use smaller bins, labeled on the outside, to store my items in my workshop. One of my favorite uses for bins is in the closet. They make storing items a breeze. And you can creative with them as well, using them for shoe organizers and a place to keep your accessories straight. In the bedroom they are perfect for under the bed storage. The kitchen pantry and plastic storage bins are a match made in heaven. Why do you think Tupperware is such a well known brand? Again, I prefer clear containers here so you can easily see the contents. Storage bins are for more than just sticking old items into and shoving them into the attic.
